Zanu-PF Harare province has held an Inter-District Meeting this Tuesday to organise people for this year’s independence celebrations.
The meeting, held at the party’s district offices in the capital, saw all districts in the province converging just a day before the country’s 39th Independence celebrations on Thursday.
In an interview with the ZBC news, the Minister of State for Harare Metropolitan Province Oliver Chidau said the meeting has had a positive impact as all districts have confirmed their participation at the celebrations.
Chidau said this year’s celebrations will be held in style as they are the first independence celebrations to be held in the second republic under President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Following the mobilisation meeting, Chidau said logistics have also been put in place to ferry people to the giant National Sports Stadium for the main celebrations.
“From the usual 60 buses, we have made a request of 150 buses to ensure that people will not be stranded after the celebrations,” he added.
The country’s 39th independence celebrations, which will be held under the theme: ‘Zimbabwe @39: Embracing Devolution for Vision for 2030,’ comes on the backdrop of the ‘Zimbabwe is Open for Business’ mantra with renewed hope of economic revival.
